Pouilly Fuissé Lise MarieThe Ferrand winery is situated in the village of Solutré-Pouilly in the heart of the AOC POUILLY FUISSE « Appellation controlée » in Southern Burgundy. GEOLOGY : Clay and Chalky soils of the Jurassic, the vineyards lie on small sloping areas facing East/South-East with an altitude between 250 and 300 metres. LOCATION : The vineyards lie in the heart of the Pouilly Fuisse appellation on the foothills of the Solutré Rock and Mount Pouilly. AREAS : 2 hectares 80 AVERAGE AGE : 45 Years old WINE : 100% chardonnay WINE -MAKING : Traditional, matured in stainless steel, enamel and new oak casks, for about 10 % of this vintage. Pneumatic pressing, decanting in termo regulated vats. Total control of temperatures during fermentation with a cooling system in each container. Cudgelling of casks once a week. Decanting and assembling at the end of april. Bottling between April and September. TASTING : Pale golden robe with orange tints. Nose is intense with sweet spic notes (cinnamon, vanillia, pepper and coconut). Mouth is well balanced and revezals sweet spice notes, and ends on liquorice and light dried fruits. RECOMMENDED DISHES : fish in a sauce, « quenelles », white meat in a cream sauce. AGEING : 8 to 10 years YEARLY PRODUCTION : 84 hectolitres |
